Toi 'n' Moi® DataDock AI
Your private, local AI data analyst for macOS — Read Me
DataDock AI connects to your company's databases and business tools and lets you ask questions in plain English, build dashboards, generate reports, and catch anomalies — all powered by AI that runs entirely on your Mac. No data leaves your machine to a cloud AI provider by default. No server. No account required to use it.
Requirements
- macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later
- An Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later) is recommended for on-device AI models. On Intel Macs, every non-AI feature still works, and you can use Ollama (installed separately) or Apple's built-in Foundation Models for the AI features instead.
- No account or internet connection required to use the app itself — only for connecting to a remote data source, downloading an AI model, checking for updates, or managing your subscription.
Installation
- Download DataDockAI.dmg from the App Market page.
- Open the downloaded
.dmgfile. - Drag DataDock AI into your Applications folder.
- Open DataDock AI from Applications, Launchpad, or Spotlight.
DataDock AI is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so it opens normally the first time — no "unidentified developer" workaround needed.
Getting Started
- On first launch, a built-in demo database is already connected — explore every feature before connecting your own data.
- A 14-day free trial starts automatically — no credit card required.
- Go to Connections to add your first real database, file import, or business tool.
- Head to Ask DataDock and ask a question in plain English.
Features Guide
Ask DataDock
The conversational home base — ask a question about your connected data in plain English and get an answer with the generated SQL, data source, model, and confidence level always visible in the Inspector panel.
Connections
Connect your own data. Supported types:
- Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, SQLite, SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, DuckDB, Supabase (PostgreSQL), ClickHouse, Snowflake, BigQuery, Firebase/Firestore
- Business tools: QuickBooks, Xero, Salesforce, Shopify, Stripe, HubSpot, Airtable, Notion, GitHub, Zendesk, Jira, WooCommerce, Google Sheets
- File imports: CSV, XLSX, Parquet, JSON, XML, SQL dumps, PDF reports
- Watched Folders: auto-import new files dropped into a folder you choose
Every connection is tested immediately, and credentials are stored only in your Mac's Keychain — never in DataDock AI's own database.
Semantic Layer
Define governed metrics once, so every feature answers consistently. Includes AI-assisted metric suggestion, business-entity detection, conflict detection, and schema-remapping — every AI suggestion is reviewed and explicitly approved by you before anything is saved.
SQL Lab
Write and run SQL directly, save frequent queries, and ask for a plain-language explanation of what a query does.
Dashboards
Build dashboards from KPI tiles, charts, and tables, each backed by a real SQL query.
Reports & Scheduled Reports
Generate a formatted report from one or more metrics, and set up a schedule (daily/weekly/ monthly) to regenerate it automatically.
Forecasts
Project a metric forward with moving average, exponential smoothing, linear regression, or seasonal decomposition — every forecast shows a confidence interval and its assumptions.
Anomalies
Statistical anomaly detection (rolling z-score) with a feedback loop to mark true/false positives.
Customer / Finance / Operations Intelligence
Deterministic (non-AI) analyses: RFM-style customer segmentation, accounts-receivable aging and revenue concentration, and SLA breach/backlog monitoring.
Data Quality Monitor
Scans a connection for missing values, duplicates, broken relationships, and outliers, with an overall quality score.
Models
Manage AI models — Apple's built-in Foundation Models, a curated catalogue of downloadable on-device MLX models (each checksum-verified before use), or Ollama.
Audit Log
A complete, searchable record of every question, query, and access decision.
Settings
Manage your subscription, switch business-type presets (General, E-commerce, SaaS, Care Provider), preview role-based access, and contact support.
Subscription Plans
A 14-day free trial starts automatically, no card required. An expired trial or lapsed subscription never blocks access to your existing data — only new AI analysis, new connections, and new scheduled reports beyond your plan's limit are paused.
